My son is using Medtronic MiniMed pump. He is doing great so far. He's had it for three years now and one of his Doctors said that we need to upgrade. Is there something wrong with the pump or is it a "life" of the pump issue? If anyone can help me…

A little about My Family and me.

I am a 31 year old that is married to Patrick and we have two kids. Dylan 12 years old has Type 1 Diabetes and Alexis 9 years old. Dylan was diagnosed August 23, 2003 the day after my 26th birthday. I really didn't know how to react. I was scared and upset. I was putting blame on myself. As I was being a total mess, my son is taking it as if nothing was wrong. At 4:29am on April 21, 2009, jbeeny said…: crystal.... forgot to tell you ... always have a backup ... incase something goes wrong with the pump..... my back up is a second pump... which i never used... the medtronic pump is the best pump ever... have you tried the dexcom seven sensor... this sensor gave me back my life.. i was waking up at 3 am every morning ... now i can sleep..... it alarms when your blood glucose is going to high or too low... go to the dexcom.com site...

good luck ...and just relax... look at me from the age of 13 to today... 61..... if i can do it anyone can do it... live life with a smile.... remember there are worse things out there... then being a diabetic... be positive..

We have tried getting his school involved as well as the "very little" town we live in and not been successful. He (as of today) has not raised a penny. We need suggestions. The walk is in May and we don't have anything. We need your help. My son also is trying to raise money to go to a camp here in Oklahoma that is in July. The camp costs $550.00 per child to go for one week. We have $100.00 so far. I really need someones help that is good at raising money with very little resources.
