My relationship to diabetes is...: I have a son with Diabetes

Tell your story as to why you want to become a Diabetic Angel or start your own chapter of the Diabetic Angels and maybe your story will be featured!: I found out about this site thanks to the response from Jackie. I was searching for information to forward to my son. He is 21 with type I diabetes. He was diagnosed at age 10. He is very brittle and hospitalized 2-3 times a month. He takes up to 8 shots a day of 2 different types of insulin. I want to be more informed about diabetes and help find a cure. Anything to help my son live a better life.

Sean Dean Flores 5/3/89-1/1/11

I haven't been on this site since I created my profile. My boyfriend had come across this web site on my facebook page and told me I should follow through with my dream. I lost Sean on New Year's Day of 2011. He was 21. His long battle with Type I diabetes had finally taken it's toll on him. I miss him everyday. I know he would want me to continue with my fight against Diabetes and the help to find a cure. As hard as it may be, I will try my best to do that in memory of Sean. The beautiful son that was taken from me to early in his life because of disease that should already have a cure. Please, anyone that would like to help me in this cause, please visit my facebook wall and donate in Sean's memory to the JDRF fund.
