Tell your story as to why you want to become a Diabetic Angel or start your own chapter of the Diabetic Angels and maybe your story will be featured!
My husband was diagnosed with diabetes at age 29. Our daughter was diagnosed with T1diabetes when she was 11. After she was diagnosed, my husband had some further testing done and found out that he too was a T1 and not the T2 that was assumed when he was diagnosed.
Since our daughter was dx'd almost 3 years ago, we've become involved with Dogs4Diabetics and several regional support groups/online communities. We have found that there is so much misinformation flying around regarding diabetes and have really tried to educate those in our circle of influence. There is still a great deal to be learned, especially in the school systems about what diabetics need, which is why I was so glad to see your community, which by the way, I read about on Diabetes Mine.
I have forwared the link to our school district nurses. Two other moms and myself are in the process of starting a local support group of parents of diabetics.
How did you find the Diabetic Angels? What were you searching for?
