Diabetic Angels

“We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” -Winston Churchill

Although our fundraising efforts for the Walk to Cure Diabetes raised $10,718 last year, we are already preparing for Mollie and Jackie's Diabetic Angels Walk Team to Walk in the 2008 JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes. Please read about what we do, as we gather volunteers for our Walk Team and raise funds to cure Diabetes!! You can make a difference...please Join us! :]

It is our belief that giving is the essence of life, for the joy of living is never found in material possessions, but in the joy of giving! Our purpose in creating the Diabetic Angels Walk Team page is to encourage people to make a difference in the lives of others, and thus, brighten the world and their own lives. We hope to inspire as many of you as possible to care enough to give, of yourself, your time, whatever resources you possess, but for the sake of humanity...give.

Welcome to one of our favorite pages, the one that lets us talk about the importance of giving. Since we were six years old we have been actively involved in a variety of charities, but to a great extent, our effort has been directed towards raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International (JDRFI) and to date, we have raised over $500,000 dollars for medical research. And for the 2007 Walk to Cure Diabetes, our team, Mollie's Mafia, raised $10,718! We know first hand how devastating this disease is and are committed to doing our part to help find the cure. For this reason, we will spend the next three months raising funds for diabetes research, with the hope that a cure will be found before one more child is sentenced to a life of finger pokes, syringes, diabetic complications, or worse.

If you are wondering why we are so passionate about this cause, the reason is, Mollie is a Juvenile Diabetic. She has spent the last fifteen years of her life conquering overwhelming challenges, just to stay healthy. Additionally, we have friends of all ages, who also suffer from diabetes and its complications, and in our young lives, we already know far too many people, who have lost their battle to this life threatening disease. We need cure Diabetes now, but we can only do this with your help. This debilitating diseases must be cured, for the toll it takes on a diabetic's body, spirit, family, and friends is unbearable; it is urgent that a cure be found sooner rather than later...waiting is not a cure to be found sooner rather than later...waiting is not an option! PLEASE, help us kick-off our campaign for diabetes research, which begine immediately and culminates with our participation in JDRF's "Walk To Cure Diabetes." Join us and become members of Mollie and Jackie's Diabetic Angels Walk Team!

We can't do this along. We truly need your help, and today you have the opportunity to Make A Difference in the lives of 20.8 million Americans, who like Mollie, struggle with unimaginable challenges each and every day.

JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with juvenile diabetes -- a disease that strikes children suddenly, makes them insulin dependent for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications. Since inception, JDRF has provided more than $600 million to diabetes research worldwide. In a typical year, 85 percent of JDRF’s expenditures directly support research and education about research. JDRF’s mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research.
