When diagnosed?

hi David. Sorry to here about your problems, What sort of complications are you experiencing? I have just been diagnosed type 1. I'm 48 and have no history, now i inject every day, Ive had diabetes for 5 weeks now, has slowed me down a bit because i hypo to quickly, i've just got to watch how much work i'm doing and keep up the regular snacks and meals. Any sort of strenuos work or activity brings on a Hypo real quick, Now i've learnt to pace myself, take it easy and don't rush. All i can say David, Depression is in the mind, think positive, stay active and take things slowly. Willpower is very strong, think positive and aim for a goal, then reward yourself. Take slow steps and don't rush. If things are getting you down, try going for a walk, around the block, down the park, beach anywhere, and think about how you can make it better for yourself. Change of habit, change your routine, if you have one. But don't give up. You must have good days when all is ok and sweet, think about them good days, But David don't give up and don't give in. You have to control the Diabetes and not let it control you. Keep your chin up and keep in touch. Talk soon. Rick.

Nice to meet you. I have heart trouble, depression, leg amputation(still trying to get the prosthetic to fit right) skin problems. And I know what you mean about the hypos. I still experience them and they are not fun. I try to stay positive but sometimes it really gets me down. Ah I also have ED from the diabetes and nothing helps that. Have problems feeling a hypo coming on and sometimes wind up on the floor. I really try to not let it get me down but sometimes it seems like there is no end in sight. I am being treated for it, so that is helping. I would love to be able to go out for a walk, but right now have a big sore on the back of my stump from where the prosthetic rubs. Supposed to get a new one in the next couple of weeks so will see how that goes. Again nice to meet you.

Hi David, Bad news about all the problems your experiencing at the moment, if it's not hard enough coping with 1 problem but mulipal, no wonder it gets you down. But you sound positive and strong, don't think this will hold you back to much. I'm having a few problems with my back and knee,also forgetful of time and losing track of what i'm supposed to be doing. just can't consentrate. It's only started to come on a couple of day's ago. See the doctor Monday, that's the earliest i could get in. What a job. hey. Ok. Things to do, You keep fighting on and i'll talk soon. Keep it safe and keep in touch. Rick

Hi David. Well i thought its about time to catch up and see whats happening. My progress has been slow, still up and down with numbers, playing with insulin ammounts. Good days but more bad days. Went to the doc, Mate i just had enough, ready to explode. The Doc prescribed different pain medication for my Knee injury and put me on Depression pills as well. Been to weeks now, I'm alot calmer and relaxed, pain hasn't eased yet. Diabetes is Still not setteling. Anyway, I'm here at 3.30am still kicking goles.
